As of 2nd September, 2014 we've enabled SSL support on all our download servers. SSL provides point to point encryption of internet traffic and acts as a method of protection against any potential packet sniffing.
Additionally (and also partially why we've finally added SSL support), it helps bypass ISP based throttles/restrictions placed on certain IP ranges/domain names.
When you enable secure downloads on your account, all generated links are HTTP(S) links instead of regular HTTP.
Secure downloads have been enabled as a default for every member in our system, however, they can be toggled on and off at will.
To toggle secure downloads, please go to Account Info and change your setting as you prefer.
